Stephens City has an unusual shape for a roof company to work in. The core of the town is old, one of the earliest settlements in the Shenandoah Valley, with a small historic district and homes that have been standing a very long time. Then, in a ring around it, there is subdivision after subdivision built from the 1990s onward as Winchester commuters spread south along US 11 and the interstate exits.
